Gaea or Gaia is a Greek goddess personifying the Earth. Her Roman equivalent was Terra..and she is the grandmother of Zeus, Poseidon and Hades to name a few...
Initially got this idea from a painting that i had once made (Oil Paints..) for an Environment Awareness event around 5 years back...well..thought I'd bring it back to life ! This time with couple of extra stuff (the original painting was just till the earth )..Took me almost a week and a half to complete..and towards the end it had to be partially remade because it was accidentally deleted (this painting went through a lot! and at one point, i seriously thought my painting was jinxed....)

The painting says it all....The mermaid has finally freed herself from captivity that slowly,silently drifts off into the unknown...Overwhelmed by the strong breeze that proclaims her emancipation, she is finally at peace, knowing that this is where she truly belongs..
